Last Day Of Cool
Sunshine prevailed today along with very pleasant temperatures to start the month of June. However, we’re about to turn up the heat for midweek, and with that comes the return for pop-up afternoon showers and thundershowers by Thursday through Saturday. Summer weather lovers will get rewarded after a lengthy wait.

As high pressure shifts off the coast, summerlike weather is set to make its appearance for the second half of the workweek. Expect a smattering of showers and thundershowers during each afternoon, starting on Thursday.
A cold front will sag southward into the Carolinas over the weekend, and may get far enough south to put us in the clear by Sunday.
Another sign of summer weather is early-season tropical development that may get going over the southern Gulf of Mexico this week. This development would probably head toward Texas and at least not immediately have impacts on our weather, but it’s an item to monitor.
