Sunshine & Moderation
Clear skies prevail today and afternoon high temperatures will be a bit milder than Sunday. Under clear skies tonight, it will be cool again as winds fall to calm. A steady moderation in temperatures will continue into Wednesday and Thursday as skies remain generally sunny. There will be a potential passing shower or two Thursday night or Friday morning, but it shouldn’t amount to much.

Canadian high pressure has taken up residence over the Tennessee Valley region and will build atop the Carolinas over the next couple of days. Initially a cool air mass, this will modify back to produce above-normal temperatures over the coming few days.
A cold front is scheduled to pass through Thursday night or Friday morning. It will generate a few more clouds, and there could be a shower or two Thursday night or Friday morning, although most rainfall will probably not escape the confines of the NC Mountains.
Behind the front, it will be a little bit cooler, but perhaps not as cool as the current air mass.
